Who We Support

Family & Carers

Supporting someone with cancer can be a journey too

When someone you care about is affected by cancer, much of the attention naturally focuses on them. But cancer can have a profound impact on partners, spouses, family members and carers too.

You may find yourself providing emotional or practical support, attending appointments, helping at home, managing changing responsibilities or simply trying to remain strong for someone you love.

Along the way, it can be easy to forget that you need support too.

Our support hub welcomes the family members, partners and carers of people affected by cancer, providing a safe and understanding environment where your experiences matter as well.

A space for you, too

You don’t need to have cancer yourself to be part of our community.

Sometimes it can be difficult to talk openly about how you are feeling when someone close to you is going through cancer. You may worry about burdening them with your concerns, or feel that what you’re experiencing isn’t important compared with what they are facing.

But your wellbeing matters.

Our hub offers an opportunity to meet others who understand what it means to support someone through cancer. You can talk, listen, share experiences, make connections or simply spend some time among people who understand.

Through our regular meetings, you can:

  • Meet other partners, family members and carers
  • Share experiences in a supportive and welcoming environment
  • Talk about the emotional and practical realities of supporting someone through cancer
  • Build friendships and connections within the community
  • Hear from invited professionals and organisations about services, resources and support that may be available to you and your loved one

You don’t always have to be the strong one

Being there for somebody else can take a great deal of strength. But supporting them shouldn’t mean having to carry everything alone.

Sometimes you need somewhere you can talk. Sometimes you need someone who understands. And sometimes you simply need a little time where nobody expects you to have all the answers.

Our community is here for you, just as you are there for them.

You are welcome here too.
